Municipal Clerk

The Municipal Clerk’s Office is located in Trailer #1 on the Police side Parking Lot, at 710 Hermann Road. Please see the photos below.

We are open to the public from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. You are welcome to inquire within or just drop off anytime during business hours.

The Municipal Clerk serves as secretary to the governing body, and is the custodian of all minutes, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, deeds and archival records of the municipality. The Township Clerk’s office issues liquor, and raffles licenses; registers voters and provides general information to the public.

The Clerk also serves as Secretary to the Council, prepares meeting agendas, attends all meetings of the Council, and provides for minutes of every meeting, as well as preservation of all ordinances and resolutions;

The Clerk is the Chief Elections Officer in all elections held in the municipality and Chief Registrar of the Voters in the Township.  Additionally, we are here to assist you. If you have a question about the Council or any issue related to the above, please call or e-mail our office. We will respond or suggest the appropriate source for the information you seek.

FAQs

You may register to vote at the Municipal Clerk’s office between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. , Monday through Friday. You may also register at the North Brunswick Library (880 Hermann Road) or at any New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission agency while applying for/renewing a license or non-driver identification card.

Voting & Elections

Yes. ALL dogs and cats (regardless if they go outside or not) MUST be licensed. It is the owner’s responsibility to make sure their pet(s) are licensed, up-to-date on shots, safe, healthy and do not cause harm to others. Dogs and cats may be licensed at the Municipal Building.

Pet Licensing

Marriage licenses may be obtained through the Municipal Clerk’s office. Applications are processed by appointment ONLY in the Clerk’s Office on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Please call for an appointment at least 3 weeks before the ceremony. There is a mandatory waiting period before a license could be issued.
