Paint Disposal 

Middlesex County Solid Division of Waste sponsors a paint disposal program for residents of Middlesex County.
Acceptable items include: Latex and water-based paint, oil based paints, stains, varnishes, lacquers, thinners and aerosol paints. All items must have a label.

Unacceptable items include: Empty containers or dried out latex paint (can be thrown out with the regular trash), household hazardous waste (see additional information below) or commercially generated waste.

The schedule for drop off of paint items is:

1st Saturday of the Month: East Brunswick Reclamation Center 357 Dunhams Corner Road

2nd Saturday of the Month: New Brunswick Public Works, 400 Jersey Ave.

2nd Saturday of the Month: Old Bridge Public Works, 1 Old Bridge Plaza

3rd Saturday of the Month: Helmetta Public Works, behind Borough Hall, 60 Main St.

4th Saturday of the Month: South Brunswick Recycling Center @ municipal complex 540 Ridge Rd, Monmouth Junction

All Paint Disposal Sites are open from 8:00am until Noon

Household Hazardous Waste Drop off Days

2018 Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Days are scheduled on the following dates from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. This service is provided for Middlesex County residents only, free of charge.

Saturday, May 18, 2018                 Middlesex County Division of Highways, North Brunswick
Friday, July 20, 2018                       East Brunswick Vo-Tech (12 p.m. - 6 p.m.)
Sunday, September 15, 2018       Woodbridge Department of Public Works
Sunday, October 21, 2018             Old Bridge Department of Public Works
Sunday, November 18, 2018         Middlesex County College, Edison

Acceptable Items: Adhesives, Aerosol Cans, Anti-Freeze, Brake Fluid, Car Batteries, Cleaners, Drain Cleaners, Fluorescent Bulbs, Gasoline, Gas/Oil Mix, Kerosene, Lighter Fluid, Mercury, Motor Oil/Filters, Paints (Latex/Oil), Paint Thinner, Pesticides/Herbicides, Photographic Chemicals, Pool Chemicals, Propane Tanks, Stains/Varnishes, Thermometers, Thermostats.
Rechargeable & Button Cell Batteries (individually bag each battery or tape each terminal end prior to transport). Alkaline batteries can disposed of in regular trash.

Non-acceptable Items: Appliances/Furniture, Electronics, Empty Containers, Explosives and Munitions, Infectious/Medical Waste, Smoke Detectors, Tires.

Please, no containers over 10 gallons.
