    Middlesex County Solid Division of Waste sponsors a paint disposal program for residents of Middlesex County.

    Acceptable items include:  Latex and water-based paint, oil based paints, stains, varnishes, lacquers, thinners and aerosol paints.  All items must have a label.

    Unacceptable items include:  Empty containers or dried out latex paint (can be thrown out with the regular trash), household hazardous waste (see additional information below) or commercially generated waste.
     
    The schedule for drop off of paint items is:
     
    1st Saturday of the Month:  East Brunswick Reclamation Center  357 Dunhams Corner Road
     
    2nd Saturday of the Month:  New Brunswick Public Works, 400 Jersey Ave. 
     
    2nd Saturday of the Month:  Old Bridge Public Works, 1 Old Bridge Plaza
     
    3rd Saturday of the Month:  Helmetta Public Works, behind Borough Hall, 60 Main St.

    4th Saturday of the Month:  South Brunswick Recycling Center @ municipal complex  540 Ridge Rd, Monmouth Junction
     
     All Paint Disposal Sites are open from 8:00am until Noon

    Hazardous Waste Drop Off Days

    Middlesex County Division of Solid Waste Management sponsors Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off Days throughout the year. These drop off days are free of charge to Middlesex County Residents.

    Items to bring to these events are:

    • Aerosol paint cans
    • Oil based paint
    • Latex paint
    • Paint thinner
    • Stains/varnishes
    • Fluorescent light bulbs
    • Mercury thermostats/ thermometers
    • Lighter fluid
    • Pesticides/herbicides
    • Pool chemicals
    • Photographic chemicals
    • Household and car batteries
    • Propane tanks
    • Adhesives
    • Kerosene
    • Antifreeze
    • Used motor oil
    • Gas/oil mix
    • Brake fluid
    • Gasoline
